To craft a clear and impactful message, it is important to identify your own communication profile, become aware of the elements that come from you (your words, tone of voice, verbal language, etc.), and observe your interlocutors in order to deliver a message that is tailored to them. Capturing your audience’s interest also means touching them at the deepest level of their being and eliciting genuine emotions. To do this, self-confidence—as well as confidence in your message and in your ability to influence—is necessary to have impact. Yet many of us are not comfortable speaking in front of an audience. This is the area participants will work on through several workshops. They will study various techniques so that their message gains impact both in substance and in form.

To prepare for the training

Theoretical content, text excerpts, and examples of communication messages will be shared with participants to ensure they have a minimum knowledge base. Discussions may also take place with the trainers in order to assess each participant’s context and level.

SESSION 1 | MASTERING EXCHANGES

A. UNDERSTANDING HOW EXCHANGES WORK

  • Discovery of the six main thinking modes according to de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats theory,

  • Identifying one’s own communication profile and that of others,

  • Introduction to meta-communication during interactions with one’s interlocutors,

  • Adopting all perspectives to unblock situations.

B. BEING COMFORTABLE WHEN SPEAKING IN PUBLIC

  • Work on structuring a speech based on a chosen topic,

  • Sharing best practices for public speaking,

  • Speaking exercises punctuated by group discussions with individual and collective feedback.


SESSION 2 | CREATING A POSITIVE IMPACT THROUGH YOUR SPEECH

C. MAKING YOUR SPEECH IMPACTFUL

  • Discovery of Albert Mehrabian’s three pillars: words, voice, body language,

  • Becoming aware of the power of visual communication,

  • Learning and mastering one’s speech to create a positive impact vocally and visually,

  • Practical application and work on participants’ proxemics.

D. PLAYING ON EMOTIONS

  • Discovering the golden rules of storytelling, both in substance and in form,

  • Study of the most effective storytelling types (personal story, heard story, ideal story, empathic story),

  • Practice of fun writing and creativity exercises,

  • Public speaking in front of the entire audience.
